#Animtober (2017)

Hey guys,

If you haven't already seen it there is an image going round for Animtober based off of the Inktober prompts. The idea is that you do one animation per week based off the prompts.

Since I won't have time to do that I'm going to use the time to focus on my gesture drawings skills by doing a set of gestures per day (I'll try to stick to the prompts as much as I can).

Feel free to use this thread to post your progress / ideas!

I didn't understand why these were colour-coded at first, I didn't realise it was one animation a week, I thought we were expected to do every one of these every day! I'll definitely be giving this a go now haha!

A rough blockout started, sadly her shy advances are currently not reciprocated. When it comes to multiple characters how do you guys go about it? Do you do a block in for both or if you have a solid idea do you get one character looking decent before beginning the other? For a shot like this where there is no direct contact between is animating one and then the other a valid way of going about it? Anyways all questions aside here it is!

@Rmunday I think you're in a good position to start animating your other character here. I personally animate one character at a time, but I don't go TOO far into the shot without going back and animating the other one, you run the risk of completing the block out for one character, and the other one could end up not really complimenting that block out and you'd have to go back and reanimate the original character. Animate the male character, and keep staging in mind. Good luck!

Nice stuff. I'm guessing you draw the red lines first for the line of action and then build the pose around it?

@AGoodFella Thanks man, I usually find a pose reference, then draw the curve and try to keep the body flowing along the line as I draw.

Sadly here is the start on the "Fierce" animation. Regrettably the rig is unbelievably broken and is no longer supported by the creator so time to find a new rig and go with the same general idea.

Really liking the work everyone, I'm kind of burned out on animation right now but I've managed to do this animation, took 10-20mins not really put any heart or soul in, it's by all accounts rubbish but a few mins are better than nothing.

Made a start on the "Fat" theme, just laying down a half decent loop before I expand it. Most likely a donut falling from a dream bubble onto his head.

Hello guys!
This is my first time posting anything on Polycount. I wanted to give a shot to that nice idea of weekly animations but sadly, being so busy with my job and having only few moments left by the weekends, I just can't get myself to finish striclty one anim per week. Hi!

Some animators friends and I wanted to do an "alternative" animtober this year, so we decided to make an "exquisite corpse of animation" <-- We chose a rig (Ivan for Blender in this case) and each animator had to pick some days for do an animation starting from the previous pose (the only information that animators received was the last 10 frames of the previous animator). So at the end we joined every animation in a crazy video
