Little Timmy's parents had warned him not to stray too far on their beach trip, but he didn't listen, and now he has seen horrors that cannot be unseen...
I've been studying a lot of mechanical work and I wanna improve my mech's . I think my problem is not leaving enough areas of rest (clear surfaces) would really appreciate any crit
@OliverJSR I know it's simple, but I suggest returning to "Form Follows Function" both on the high level, and in the specifics, especially for mech work. So you're right about the graphic read of breaking up detail with large masses and smaller detailed passages. However, I would suggest you focus on getting the design elements to make mechanical sense before you get into the visual nuance. So for mechs, it depends on the tech and style (like biotech, electronic, steampunk, etc) but my approach is to generally consider the forms broken down into 3 basic categories: "Frame" (bones and underlying structure), "Guts" (electrical, hydraulic, push rods, etc. basically all the things that cause motion, ventilation/cooling, sensors, etc.), and "Shell" (primarily protective, could be aerodynamics if applicable). So everything there has a function, either structure, motion, or protection. Then consider manufacturing. How would someone actually make this thing and do maintenance on it? So you can communicate some of that visually with fasteners, access panels, etc. One more level of depth on design when it comes to manufacturing is cost. Cost/Quality drives design decisions in the real world. So all of that is design, but it informs the visuals. Use ref, Good luck!
Falling behind a bit, but going to finish this out completely.
I'd love to see a crime noir miniseries investigating the death of Humpty Dumpty - why were all the King's Horses and all the King's men so close to the scene to begin with? Was it the royal family behind the hit?
Quick Little fire demon, really enjoying using copic markers
[MOD EDIT] @OliverJSR I'm assuming you posted this in Tudor's thread by mistake, so I moved it over here.
You may have thought you lost that solitary sock in the tumble dryer, but it was actually found by an interdimensional imp with a fondness for warm knitted footwear Inktober day 30 FOUND
Awesome Inktober, everybody! Lots of different styles and senses of humor represented. It was a pleasure! Looking forward to seeing the last few come in. Personally, I always learn during inktober. I'm forced to live with my mistakes and am challenged to be more deliberate and conscious of my approach. Always a good kick in the pants (as far as kicks to the pants go).
TRICK OR TREAT! Made it to the end! - Well done everyone else, it's been great working alongside you all and this has always been a highlight of my day checking in to see what you've all posted.
