Arnold 5 Skin Rendering Help

I am having a difficult time getting the skin tone that I want; I would like for it to be a pale, somewhat desaturated skin tone. Would I achieve this by having the diffuse a normal saturated skin tone and then working with the lighting to get the desaturated skin tone or have the diffuse map desaturated? Or is there something else that I would need to do?

If it's by lighting, does anyone have any suggestions on what settings to use for the area lighting and what color?

Thank you for responding, and yes I have watched that exact video, but am still having troubles controlling the saturation of the skin even when changing the diffuse and aiMultiply layer.

I have another question: at 15:32, he says you can paint the veins and all of that, but by that, does he mean connect the aiMultiply with an aiImage that contains the subdermal map? In other words, I am somewhat confused on how to apply also the dermal layers?
