Updated most character hardsurface bits to sub-d, added tasseled apron, and updated arm straps. Started on the hair in the back. I'll need to press the strapped rings into the flesh soon.
Updated several areas for a more cohesive style, updated hair. High poly roadmap: 1) enlarge the hands; 2) update the wraps to be chunkier; 3) Update goatee
I want to call the high poly done, but I think I'll rest my eyes a few days. Did a rough transpose pose, may refine the arm straps before going into low poly.
Went with sculpted hair, need to fix the low poly pose and work on materials. The quick rig arms need help, the elbows are particularly bad. Had an entry plug pose/animation planned, but I'm running short on time for my artificial deadline June 21st. I'm pretty sure this is the final pose.

@DonEngland your sculpting is really on point anatomically, and I really enjoy the hair here. What do you plan to do with the ponytail bindings?
Thanks @Voxelope! I don't think I have the files anymore, but that blacksmith was for Artstation's Ancient Civilizations challenges awhile back. Glad you like the hair, I remember being happy with it at the time. And while there are so many things I'd do differently now I think it's a good snapshot of where I was 2 years ago. If I were to make this again those ponytail bindings would be sculpted to look more like hammered metal, maybe with an engraving.
I feel like I've been spending a lot of time in my comfort zone on stylized characters and hardsurface work. I'm looking to make something a little more realistic to help push past a plateau. My texture work feels behind so that will be my focus. Working on the bard concept from the Monthly Character Challenge with the goal of skin texturing in marmoset toolbag.

Spider from sphere, array mesh on legs. Not sure if I'll keep the eyes round or squash them to better match the concept.

I blocked out an entry plug a few lunches back and will update it to better match the character
Occasionally I'll spend a few hours to put together some test case, such as this 3D pixel test.
Asuka is priority, she still needs texturing and probably animation for the hair.
