Sounds like fun, I'm in! Did a quick blocking pass tonight. I'll chip away at it through the week and hopefully put some time in on the weekend. Looking forward to seeing everyone's submission!
Small update on my animation. Not really digging the randomness of the wrecking ball anymore. Will probably swap it out for a falling stalagtite so it at least fits the scenario. Open to C&C.
Here's my blocking pass! still fairly rough, I think there's several areas I could push more and tweak the timing of, especially the rollover at the end. Would love to hear your thoughts! https://www.syncsketch.com/sketch/156994#189531
Calling this done for now. Still some room to polish, and I'm not super happy with the sell of the gag, but it was great practice and I'm looking forward to the next one
@edlucas3rd really nice man! very much in character of venom. Only one nit pick is venom's left leg, with the combination of default light and flat side view, venom's left leg looks bent toward the camera, the wrong way, @ 2:00 as he throws spiderman back. The lack of highlight on the calf really throws the left leg off. I'm sure the pose is perfectly fine in reality, just in this specific situation I think it needs a little adjustment so the knee is not reading as broken.
Thanks guys! I got a lot of help along the way from you all too. I honestly don't know how you could pick when there are so many great ideas and executions!
The hardest part is picking from all the entries, just blown away by all the great ideas! I'll get in touch with the honorable mentions that aren't on polycount but @Hito and @Einar if you guys would like us to review your shot/reels we can do that next week on a live FB video review. I'll also DM you about your prize!
@jasonshum sounds good! I want to try a slightly unconventional edit of the reel with this anim included and would be great to get some eyes on it before making it live. Will PM you the link this weekend.
#Animbreak May challenge compilation of most of the entries, thanks to everyone that took the time to create animation for this! The theme was "Death", turn up the music and enjoy!
