Hey thanks man, I didn't have much time to work on this, but here is a little bit of a progress. Not happy with the mask right now, but I will sort it out... Let me know what you think! Also if anyone is interested in the further progress, please check out my stream
looking good, but yeah, mask is looking weird, maybe keep it flat in zbrush and just ad the detail when texturing? It does looks a lot flatter in the concept.
I'll play around with it still, when it's completely flat and "a piece of wood with 2 holes for the eyes" it looks very boring IMO, that's why I added some features, this is obviously not looking like wood right now as well (super smooth atm). Will see how I go about this
Hey, thanks a lot, I had a look at your submission too and it's looking awesome! Will be following your progress too Here's a little something I threw together using zmodeller, basic shape of the chest. Still not sure if I want it heavily stylised, or maybe something in the middle of realism and stylised.
Hey guys, so I didn't have too much time to spend on this sculpt, but here are a few asset/detail updates. I hope you like it. I feel a bit weird posting this, because some objects have more detail than others, but I am sure it shows some of my process
Hey guys glad you like the book It started out as a pretty simple model using zmodeller, and then I simply added detail by using slash brushes and alphas for the pages (check out the ORB brush set), and some wear and tear using trim dynamic and some more slash alphas. Also I made some major changes on the back piece, and some other detailing. Getting closer and closer to finishing the model now.
Hey guys, long time no see. Anyway here is an update on the retopo of my Artstation challenge character sculpt, which took me ages! (I made a mistake of not saving the low poly objects when I was working on them, so I had to remake them... Good lesson I suppose :P ). Let me know what you guys think of this! I still need to sort out some of the densities (most noticeably the cloths)
Thanks man! Been working on the baking today, first time using substance painter for it, and I think it's doing great job! Using the match by name method.
Hey guys, Finally finished the baking. This was quite the task as it was the first time I was using match by name, but I managed to do it, woo! Now I can kick back and start painting textures.
Bake turned out great! personally I think the substance baker is a bit overhyped, but if it works, it works I guess. (personally I love the marmoset 3 baker )
Those last renders are beautiful, are those directly from Painter?
Bit of an update on the texturing part. I have got to finish these textures tomorrow, still quite a few parts are untouched, but hopefuly I'll sort this out in time. Please do like my submission on the artstation page if you enjoy this!
Hey guys so my submission is now finalised! I had a lot of fun working on this project, and I am very thankful that I managed to finish it 2 hours before the deadline! Let me know what you think
Congrats on finishing, would love to get a more highres version of that second image, its a bit hard to see all the nice detail from those artsy camera angles and all that dof/bloom. I get that you wanna spice up the beauty shots, but it would be nice to have some high res straight forward shots as well

+ tutorial on how I quickly made the chains
and retop is looking good aswell, but as you mentioned yourself, there is some density issues here and there.
