Ok so it's been a couple years. I guess an update is in order. (this thread is amazing, thanks all)
It's been great. Wayfair is not at all what I thought it would be like when I interviewed. The pace here is incredible. It really is a top-tier tech company. I've learned so much since I've been here, but also been able to contribute.
I'm now a Sr Tech Artist, helping run the real-time 3d tech side of things here, developing RT art pipelines, working on auto conversions from high res assets to LODs and the like, and collaborating in industry standards groups to drive progress.
Currently working on real-time velvet/satin/etc. materials.
Anyhow, thought an update made sense. Also, haven't strayed far from Polycount, still on here just about daily.
Nice one and I hadn't really appreciated the scope of realtime methodologies implemented in an archviz environment/context, although probably not to surprising since I've noticed this progressive trend in evidence via other industry sectors....also sounds like you're still having a blast, too
