Freezing UV's on already animated Alembic, without deleting history??

So I'm really stuck with this next problem.
We have this building that's being destroyed for our school project.
The original Uv's were all tileable and overlapping on the before it went into houdini. Houdini kept all the original UV's after fracture, but as it goes we want to project a different texture on it. This is matte painting that adds more dust, dirt etc. Now the problem is you can't project and bake to uv's with overlapping uv's. So I have to do a automatic unwrap.
When I do a automatic unwrap on this destruction alembic the UV's will move when you scrub through the timeline. This is obviously because it's already animated and I modify uv's after. Is there a way to freeze the UV's anyway??
Delete history doesn't work as it will delete the alembic information.

I read something about texture reference object but I'm not sure how to get it working. It seems this also has to be created before animation??
