Maya Quad Draw Tool Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
So not sure what I pressed but all of a sudden the quad draw tool...
1)
When holding tab Im normally able to extend an edge but not it just make these squares and I cant extend edges anymore

When I move a vertex of the new quad draw created model...
For some reason....
-If i move the left side vertex down, the right side gets a new edge out of nowhere...
-If i move the right side vertex, the left side gets a new edge out of nowhere...
