Blood Quantum is a game that I'm working on. This is my personal project. Since it's an indie title, AAA standards are no really reasonable. We created some tech and decided on a very simple, vibrant, art style to get more content out quickly. I'm excited to hear advice and critique!
Looks nice. I'm curious as to what style of game this is, and what a character would look like in this environment. I worry that the ground is so bright and vibrant that it may be difficult to have the character stand out.
That's a pretty good point. The style of game is part sim/civ, part exploration. You don't play as any one character, but rather control and interact several little guys.
The characters (Drawplets) look like little squishy type creatures and will have many different color variants. That is actually part of a mechanic for game play later.
There are many different enemy types as well. They tend to have more animal-like features. This shot is a closer to how far the camera will be during exploration: .
