I am currently a third year student at Staffordshire University studying Computer Games Design BSc. I want to become a professional 3D Artist, Preferably an Environment Artist and work in the gaming industry.
My FYP will be focused on creating a realistic 3D environment. It is going to be a F1 Ferrari garage. My project module will contain a series of high detailed 3D objects and my portfolio module will just be the environment.
I started my FYP early October, I have managed to finish all my visual and technical research on late November. Now I am currently the modelling stage, creating high and lowpoly models. I plan to have all my models done by the end of January.
" all lowpoly assets will be completely modular"
I will show my development through the year on this forum, to receive constructive feedback on my work so I can improve on it and create high quality work and to showcase it on my portfolio website.

These are the references I used to create this highpoly toolbox.
My aim is to produce at least two different tool boxes. One small with an handle, and one medium/large with extra storage and wheels fitted at the bottom.
Here is an image of my lowpoly in wireframes.
I'm hoping you have more than an untextured toolbox and tire if you started this in early October.
Then from there I will start texturing all of my assets and i will have till the end of march complete it.
After that i will have till 28th April to finish all of my shades network and produce presentation sheets of my environment.
"to answer your first question, yes i do have a level made in unreal engine 4"
It is a WIP because not all of my assets have been made or even placed in the level. But soon i will upload few images of what I've done so far.
WIP.
Current Tri-count - 40,216, less than 10k to spare for the interior.
Greybox for the garage looks pretty cool btw.
The exterior elements, as well as the car itself will not be baked but some of the interior will have baked normals, ao's etc. My budget for the car has now changed due to recent research on Project Cars studios. There vehicles are around 60,000 polygons for console version's. So my new tri count limit is 120,000 but it's unlikely i will be hitting the target.
But that being said, i will also have to go back on my research and start looking online for more information about the ideal tri-count limit for an racing garage environment, due to the fact there will be not one but two f1 cars in my garage.
"Correction, the gaming studio is called SLIGHTLY MADS"

I really like the laptop too, my reference images were from google images. I simply just looked up Ferrari laptops and modelled and textured my laptop accordingly to the references. Also adding in some wear/tear to make it more visually interesting.
My Next Project will be creating Matt Murdock's "daredevil" apartment, based off the popular Netflix tv show. You can follow my progress if you wish, i already made a forum for this .
