This is my wip so far. I'm leaving working on the helmet till I've nailed down the proportions, which is not the case yet because I think it's integral to making sure the model looks right.
I think I'll make the shirt underneath the model leather scales. I can't figure out from the concept what it is but chunky scales might work.
The concept art is fantastic and you did a great job so far in bringing it to life! My only gripe is that the right gardbrace seems a little too large.
Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated! @rohMizuno yea I noticed the tattered sleeve but my brain just couldn't make sense of the pattern on it I think I'll go ahead and make it cloth like you say and see how it looks @apllana the concept really stood out to me. I think maybe it's not just the gardbrace that's misproportioned but the parts around it too including the gorget and helm so I'll definitely make size adjustments to that area before moving on. @Opilo thanks man, it's my first attempt at such a hard surface heavy character so I'm glad it's looking clean so far
@jose.fuentes it's nothing special but I'm without a useable drawing tablet this weekend so figured I'd put together a quick image containing my main steps, hope it's at least a little useful
So because my drawing tablet broke I switched to starting the base mesh for the sword. I was initially going to make the back notably different to the front (probably plainer) but in the concept you do see it flipped a little and the design appears to be the same. So here's the blockout orthos before I go high poly. Just noticed the gap between the gold blade and the dark grey metal needs to be expanded to closer match the concept and a section lower down has been deleted but other than some adjustments I think I'm good to go.
Well I ignored this project for a good long while but getting towards finishing it now. Got a strap to add on the back sword harness and changes to the skirt and chainmail to make but it's not far off I think...hope.

also, by the way fabric is damaged on the back view I believe that is a just a gambeson, not leather.
