London Polycount meet: 11th February 2017 - The Parcel Yard, King's Cross - 4pm-11pm!

London/UK/EU Polycounters!

After been reminded by a few people over the past couple of weeks that it's been a good while since we had a meet, I thought I had better get off my ass and get one sorted! I'm currently looking at booking something for mid-February (11th or 18th maybe?) so we can give UK based freelancers a little time to recover after self assessment payments, assuming the majority don't have an problem with that. If anyone has a major issue with either of these dates let me know please.

As the meets have become increasingly popular with a regular 30+ people showing up consistently for the past 5 or 6 times or so, I will endeavour to book The Parcel Yard at King's Cross Station again as it seem to fit everyone quite nicely the last time around (yes, they serve food )

Maybe try the Loading Bar in Dalston? They have a basement room that can accommodate a group like ours quite well, and as an added bonus is the bar is full of board and video games. We'd probably swarm the venue mind, given how many people were at previous meets. Downside is it's in Dalston of course, but that's still Zone 1/2 and easy to get to on the Overground and super easy to find. Telephone is 020 7254 1967, I believe.

I'll just be happy so long as we don't end up on another Polycount Goosechase.

I'm still negotiating with the venue about the min spend and deposit. Either way It's likely that we will still be at the Parcel Yard even if we have to use the bar. I've warned the venue about the number of us likely to arrive and that the min spend and non-refundable deposit are a red line for us as we could use the bar for free. So far they have agreed to drop the min spend to £200 with the deposit still being negotiated.

Hey everyone!

I've finally finished my negotiations with The Parcel Yard and they have agreed to give us a room with no deposit, a min £300 spend & a possible upgrade to a larger room if there is one free on the day. Should be quite doable I think.

We have the room from 4pm until 11pm on the 11th February

Food and drink will be available at the bar.
