London Polycount meet: 11th February 2017 - The Parcel Yard, King's Cross - 4pm-11pm!

London/UK/EU Polycounters!

After been reminded by a few people over the past couple of weeks that it's been a good while since we had a meet, I thought I had better get off my ass and get one sorted! I'm currently looking at booking something for mid-February (11th or 18th maybe?) so we can give UK based freelancers a little time to recover after self assessment payments, assuming the majority don't have an problem with that. If anyone has a major issue with either of these dates let me know please.

As the meets have become increasingly popular with a regular 30+ people showing up consistently for the past 5 or 6 times or so, I will endeavour to book The Parcel Yard at King's Cross Station again as it seem to fit everyone quite nicely the last time around (yes, they serve food )

Hey all. I'm trying to get the 11th but am currently negotiating with the venue as they want a guaranteed min spend of £550.

I will update soon with a more concrete answer.

A guaranteed minimum spend of £550 between 30 people is nearly £20 per head. I wouldn't take that deal, tbh, as it's hard to know how many people will actually be there (15? 40? who knows?). Hopefully you can talk them out of it.

Maybe try the Loading Bar in Dalston? They have a basement room that can accommodate a group like ours quite well, and as an added bonus is the bar is full of board and video games. We'd probably swarm the venue mind, given how many people were at previous meets. Downside is it's in Dalston of course, but that's still Zone 1/2 and easy to get to on the Overground and super easy to find. Telephone is 020 7254 1967, I believe.

I'll just be happy so long as we don't end up on another Polycount Goosechase.
