I need some advice on how to place hair cards

Hey, I just learned how to create hair cards but I'm struggling a LOT to place them. It comes out looking like shit, but I guess this is one of those things you have to practice a lot. 

But I was hoping that someone would have some nice tips and tricks for placing them.

There are other instruction films. These are with Max, there are ones for Maya as well.

Thanks man exactly what I needed I searched for hair cards on the wiki but nothing showed up.

I added a redirect for "hair cards", thanks for the info. 

For any future wiki searches, I think it might be better to use single words. Somehow the wiki search treats a search as a whole phrase, instead of each word alone. Hmmm.
