Hello!

I am new to substance painter. So I did what everyone who doesn't know how to do something......youtube tutorials. I have been having problems, I looked at tutorials, but my 3D object seems to be messing up, so I can't continue the tutorial on texturing. I am showing you my process to see what I might be doing wrong.

First I put all my maps inside the new project along with my Low Poly

Then click OK,

These are my maps

Plugged in my maps and everything seems ok,

Until I rotate to the back.
The bolts of the back are inverted.

So I thought my maps were wrong so I checked and put them inside Marmoset

But the backside of the mailbox looked fine.

I just want to solve this issue, so I can continue to start texturing.

-Thank you!

'Inverted' as in depressing inwards rather than protruding outwards? I can't quite see what's wrong in the pictures, but if they display fine in marmoset and I'm assuming in a game engine, then there's nothing to worry about. Usually problems like this are caused by UV mirroring or cage settings but you seem to have each face mapped separately etc. so I fail to see what might be causing this.

Edit: I can see one bolt that is skewing - this is when you don't have low poly geometry near to high poly detail and as a result the bake isn't projecting the detail properly.

Not something that will solve your problem unfortunately, but another quirk in the baking process you should take note of.

what is your project normal settings in substance painter? open gl or direct x? switch it and see if that looks better.
