Hey!
I'm a game-art student currently working on a enviroment-scene, inspired by Dark Souls 3 and The Witcher 3 for school and I'd love to share my process and maybe get some feedback.
The goal is to create a smaller set of modular pieces and build the scene in Unreal Engine 4. I wanted a feeling of something old that's fallen apart, maybe forgotten for years deep in some forest.
I started out by blocking out the scene and finding all my essential pieces. After some defining lowpolys I created highpoly meshes (sculpting rocks and stone sure is fun guys!) and added a first version of the textures in Substance painter.
Concept sketches
First round of lowpoly/blockout.
Step one of textures, lighting and build.
The next step is to do another round of texturing, add a bit more wear and character. I also want to add some foilage (a bit of tall grass, bushes, and maybe some moss), and to create some natural sources of light (candles, lanterns, torches...).
Comments and critiques are welcome
