Anybody have any Maya tools that replace the save dailog with a custom one?

I am messing around with making a custom project saving dialog that basically replaces the native Maya save dialog with one that offers more helpful features for organizing scenes based on project needs. I have some ideas and prototypes on how to do it, but I was wondering if anybody knows of any tools out there that do something like this so I could take a look at how they did it.

If you don't like the default Maya save dialog, have you tried going back to OS Native? Just found out about this myself and prefer it: 

1. Windows > Settings/Preferences > Preferences
2. Files/Projects
3. File Dialog > Set radio button to OS Native. (Default is "Maya Default")

I'd also like to see a custom Maya dialog for better organizing scenes though

It doesn't replace anything, but the Layout Tools set from Bonus Tools may give you some ideas? Scene Assembly Manager is also not a replacement, but does handle asset management/files.
