This issue has only started recently (just upgraded to 2.2.0 but error occurs even after rolling back to previous versions).
When starting a new project, instead of getting Photoshop files for "albedo, metalness, normal, etc." I only get the ID map that I entered when creating the project and "Gradient, ObjectSpaceNormal, Mask, and Intermediate." The mesh does get properly loaded into 3Do however. Mousing over the dDo window will have it revert to creating a new project, so it also doesn't recognize a working project when this happens. Opening old projects to work on work just fine.
I am currently using Photoshop CS5, but that hasn't been a problem until now. Anyone have any ideas?

You could try to "save and reboot" from Quixel menu after the new project has been created. This free up the memory and reboot Photoshop and quixel properly.
Hope that help you.
Unlisted video. Gave a bare bones example, solid color Material ID and no normals or curvature. Haven't updated to 2.2.1 yet but I'll give it a shot.
You don't need an ID map for this project. You've loaded a solid color, so it's essentially a 1024x1024 white mask. At that point the only thing you need to do is add a material or a Smart Material to your project - it would have the same effect and save you a little bit of time.
You also don't need a custom plane mesh - 3DO ships with several primitive objects, including a plane.
We should be resolving this CS5-specific issue of flattening being an option pretty soon - keep an eye out for it in a future update. For now, avoid flattening and choose Keep Layers when prompted.
