Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (WIP)

I've been working on this model of Nausicaa and her props for a while now. To get motivated, I'm posting my progress here. 

Currently she's giving me trouble with her hair. I'm still figuring out how to export and render it in the best way possible. Textures are also still in progress, but mostly I'm happy with the modeling. Thought I may go back and focus on her face again at some point.

Props and things are pretty much done. Glider, knife with sheath, and rifle. I may go in and adjust the knife textures a bit, or rough up the gun wood. 


Anyway, comments and suggestions are welcome as I attempt to get finish finished! Thanks!

Some updates. Still adjusting hair and materials. But I have VRay now so the rendering is more powerful than what I had, but also different than what I'm used to.

Some more updates. Figured out more about VRay materials, exported things more properly from SP, and dug into the sculpt a little more. Set up the eyes a little better too.

The hair looks great, maybe you could match her clean face to her dirty outfit, it looks like she has been rolling in mud but her face is very clean which is a bit odd.

Given the scale, the threading on the jacket could be smaller.

Looking nice!  Was concerned about the look of the eyes till the latest render.
