I've always wanted to make something out of the WH40K universe, and I like the idea of psychics that can go completely ballistic on the battlefield. So I'm going to create an Imperial Psyker, based on the awesome artwork by Ted Beargeon.
I particularly like these designs as they have that kind of Darksiders vibe added to it (de concept was made for a MMO by Vigil.) Those robust chucky shapes really lend to the 40k universe well.
This is the first time in a long time i'm actually doing a progression thread, mainly due to soul crushing insecurity, but lets just smash through that and get goin :P.
Here's a shot of the concept:
Here's the blockout so far, I started out using a base body and sculpting dynameshes around it. I retopod the lot, to make sure all the pieces fit into place, as the design is quite busy, and I wanted to keep it neat. so now I can start refining/adding details. I'm mixing up some of the collar concepts, as I wanted to show a bit more face.
I've added the Psychic hood and cloak, and now its on to the detailing, I'm mainly working on this in the wee hours in the evening so I hope to update it whenever I can.
Nothing big so far, but feel free to blast away!
(so long it is in the Emprahs name.)

The head is certainly a lot smaller in the concept. but you could scale it down like 15% to have some stylization but not begin to look so disproportionate if that's not your goal.

Thanks! jeah I think the head scale went up a slight tad in size during concepting, I'll tone it down a notch!
