Hi guys

Dont know if this is possible, but ti would help me alot if it is..

I have a bunch of objects to unwrap, objects such as chairs that have varied amounts of complicated bendy tubes.
What is the easiest way to unwrap them so the result is a straight row of UV's? 
I would have thought creating a shape path and trying to generate auto UV's might work but I havent tried that yet.
Just thought I would enquire before going any further.
