hi guys,
recently im working on a game character and usally the humanoid character wearing more or less normal pants. they are very tight to the skin and joints.

this time, the character is wearing harem pants with a very low crotch and the hips are at their normal position.
what would be the best solution for this one?

thanks!

best regards

Hello there, I would put 4 star vertices where the pants get thinner (front and back). Like so, hope it helps!

I think it helps to imagine the stress lines which would occur when stretching and animating that area. An angled topology would allow better deformation when pulled, than an orthagonal grid-based one. So your second paintover would make more sense.  Also depends on the range of motion this character needs to perform... walking, running, hurdling, sitting cross-legged?

thanks for your adivce - i modelled now different solutions and i will send it to our animator.
I hope one of it will be the one to be. the second one of mine looks like the most promising.

I come back in the future and show you the the result.
    thanks!
