Hi. So I just found out about this contest and I decided...why not? I've got the weekend to drink inhuman amounts of coffee and crank out some sort of science experiment which could only be inspired by the 80's. Here's a sketch of where I'll be going with it, and some inspirational material, for those interested.. Hopefully I can get it done in time to make the deadline. Any thoughts will be duly noted. Thanks taking a look, and hopefully I'll have round 2 up soon!

Update #1: 

Didn't sleep last night, just went ham on this skin blocking out the basic line work in Illustrator. I'll tighten up some of the cabling stuff on the clip and then on to color! If I pull another all-nighter, I think I can make it to the finish line. I feel like I'm in an episode of 24 rn.

Update #1:

Pretty nice artwork, friend.   I would love to see a bit of negative space in front of the side clip area to have a smoother transition with how it fits into the top face.  The nose on that face seems a bit like a button nose more in line with a child's nose but maybe you are going for that?  That's just my take on it though.   Looking good dude.  Hoping you nail the color pallette right.

Thanks man! Yeah I think I'm going for a childish Borderlands-y theme here... The color pallet will likely be neon, like the streets of Bladerunner or Tron. I did get a little crazy with the cables at the bottom...too crazy. Haha. I'll try to give that some consistency with the rest of the skin by adding some more metal patterning under where the cabling doesnt cover it. Is that what you meant by "front of the side clip area"? Wasn't sure what area you were talking about there. Anyway, thanks for the thoughts! I'm probably in for another sleepless night and a lot of coffee to get there...the lack of sleep is already affecting my ability to make decisions. Ha! Cheers!

I just threw something together really quick.  i removed some of the wires to create a negative space that  makes the face flow down better with the wires from a side view/inspect.  my version is too straight and probably too plain but you get the idea.  i also have no idea where those wires need to balance out in alignment with the First person and side view looks

Okay, yeah that what I thought you meant. Good looking out man! I'm almost done with the rest of the design leg-work, so I've left that mess for last. Hopefully I can resolve that part and jam on the color work shortly. I'll post another version in a few, but if you wanna drop by my Twitch [ ] and throw me some tips. I'll be around till 5PM EST. I wish this design gets in to CSGO at some point. They currently have so much bad patterns in the game.
