That’s where the technical artist comes in: Buffs, heals, resurrection and, yes, even crowd control are all in a day’s work.
Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a talented technical artist to join the World of Warcraft. You must be skilled in creating tools using MaxScript and be well-versed in developing and supporting art content pipelines.
The ideal candidate is at their best in an environment of peers who are passionate about making great games.
This is a staff position located at our Irvine, CA campus.
REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a technical artist or related role in game development or other CG production environment
- 3dsMax knowledge and experience developing in MaxScript
- Experience with tools and pipeline creation to facilitate artistic production
- A desire for helping others and to improve art content pipelines
- Strong technical background, detail oriented, and efficient
PLUSES
- Python tool development for 3dsMax, Maya, Photoshop, or stand alone
- C++ or C# tool development
- Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Previously shipped one or more AAA PC or console titles as a technical artist or related role
- Understanding of the visual style of World of Warcraft and a passion to push it to the next level
