Maya 2016 OSX menu issue

Hi Guys,
Just installed Maya 2016 for OS X and noticed that the upper menu of the software, the one that contain options such as File ,Edit,Create and etc is separated from the main window of the software, how can I attach them together?

first time for you in OSX? thats just how an application that follows the operating system GUI conventions will display its global menu items in windowed mode. no way of attaching that to the window frame. if you compare against other apps installed on your system it should be the same for most of them.

what you can do in maya specifically is to choose maya -> go full screen from the menu bar to hide the application frame. the menu bar then auto-hides however.
