I'm working on the models for a fantasy rpg style chess game and I'm currently trying to get a final look for my queen.
I think I hate her collar thing but I cant come up with better ideas, what do you think? It's supposed to give her a similar silhouette to a typical chess queen piece.
I also think her hair is boring but cant imagine of any other hairstyle with this thing behind her head and the crown.
I'm going for a semi-stylized style so her height and the extremely long neck are intentional. Is it too much?
Another thing that's bothering me is that the model is supposed to be readable from a reasonably long distance (maybe a little smaller than what she looks like in the picture below?) but still have enough details to look good when zoomed in. So while I like the fish-net pattern for close ups, I think it's too noisy from afar and cant find a compromise. Making it even bigger is going to look ridiculous up close.
I want to add more details like buttons to the collar or some emblem on her waist-belt thing, a pattern on the crown and detail the wrinkles better (I'll break the symmetry later) but I have no concept so I'm going with whatever comes to mind. Any ideas to make this less generic and more interesting?
