@SSquir33 yes! Thank you. It was one of the reasons I really liked his concept. I'll probably do a shot of his head without the headband once I'm working on the beauty shots. You'll be able to see where the pin goes underneath the headband
Thanks @Amelias! I found a really cool method that Frédéric Arsenault mentioned in the breakdown for his Sacrifice piece. I would absolutely check out his process if you're interested. In a nutshell you have to invert the normals on the mesh, and then scale it up to be just a little bit larger than the model (larger = thicker outline).
The one drawback for me, is if you have any close or intersecting vertices or separate pieces on top of each other. Then the outline mesh will kind of look like it's exploding a bit. You can see that happening a little with my dude's mouth and a little bit on the pendant on his headband. I'll be removing the outline in the renders for that part when I'm setting up the presentation shots.
Finally wrapped up N8t with the help of a little vacation time at the end of the year! It might be a little while before I have time to make another character, but I'll be sure to post it here whenever I do.
