That dude at 1:28 is why the robots will wage war against us to the very end.
Totally. Pretty ominous that the robot just up and leaves after being bullied by that bearded guy. Where did the robot go? To sulk, go for a lonely walk or to arm itself for the uprising? You don't know.
Though, Im very curious to see how this robot would do in those yearly robot competitions where they have to go through an obstacle course. It appears that this thing is able to do what it does because of QR codes. If those codes aren't placed on objects and walls, will it know what to do? It's got balance, but what else?
Fun fact : "Most of you guys probably already saw this video, but I thought I’d share anyways.
Some time ago I was very fortunate to be involved in developing latest
Boston Dynamics robot. I joined the team during the later stage and had a
pleasure to work on exterior shells design/3D model that cover hardware
parts. The job also included exploring color/material variations. It’s
fun and satisfying to see most of that work making it to the final
model. Huge kudos and thanks to Boston Dynamics
hardware/software/mechanical engineering team for this amazing
opportunity. It was very humbling and all around inspiring to witness
how much work goes into making something like this a reality." - Vitaliy Bulgarov
For the poeple who don't know Vitaliy, he's a 3D modeler who used to work at Blizzard.
And I find that moment, where he stands back up, absolutely terrifying
The human-killing alarm going off really completes the effect. The last clip makes me laugh, the robot escaping from its evil human overlords into the outside world, like the ambiguous ending of some movie Wonder what it's like living/working near Boston dynamics. You'd have no idea what would come waddling (soon: striding) out of that place next
