Technical Animator - Unannounced Game Project - CCP Games

CCP Games is in search of an exceptionally skilled Technical Animator for an unannounced game project. Someone who can teach us a thing or two! Working with the Unreal Engine 4, the ideal candidate can help create new techniques and processes to solve character production. Is excited about automating pipeline tools to streamline setup processes and is eager to own their own solutions long term. We’re a small multidisciplinary team looking for someone highly collaborative who is excited about being part of ongoing problem solving across more than just their area of expertise. Experience working on online multiplayer games with a passion for bringing characters for both science fiction and fantasy settings to life a huge plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Production Lead, Concept Artist and Technical Artist to create a long term animation pipeline solution
  • Set up, own and maintain complete animation pipeline for Unreal Engine 4
  • Design, create, test and maintain character rigs
  • Collaborate with the team to help develop the visual direction for the game
  • Contribute to other areas of development and art creation

Required

  • Preferably 3 years production experience
  • Experience working in the Unreal Engine 4 or equivalent game engine
  • Experience in games development using Maya or an equivalent 3D program
  • Strong MEL / Python or equivalent language knowledge
  • Ability to set up production pipelines and solve complex problems independently or in collaboration with the team
  • Highly motivated,  self-directed and a great team-player attitude 
  • Passion for video games
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadline
  • A thorough understanding of the development process for video game art from concept to final production and the ability to help make it happen

Plus

  • Strong knowledge of the games industry
  • Great skillset capable of creating creature animation, character animation and everything in-between
  • Skills in one or more of the following a big plus – modelling, illustration or texturing
  • Have shipped a PC or console title as a character animator
  • Experience in FX and particle animation
  • Art, Design, or equivalent degree
