Shader FX, Max 2015, floats can't be negative?

Shader FX in 3ds Max 2015, when I use a Float node and compile the FX shader, the Material Editor refuses to allow negative values. It only allows zero or greater. Is there a checkbox I forgot to tick?

hmmm..
there is supposed to be a min/max setting in the Properties panel when you select the float node.....
But i don't see it in your screenshot there

Ah, it just requires Advanced Mode for those to appear. Thanks Kees.
