Alright, it's been a while since I've done anything remotely close to this in my personal time. I have mostly just done small fanart busts for fun outside of work. I figured it was time to really commit to a long term project and make a full on character to the best of my abilities. I hope to learn and utilize a few software packages that I have not in the past...at least not for personal work. As for the project, I am going to recreate Wonder Woman in my own flavor and right now I'm sort of leaning towards a more modern, military look. I will still use colors and themes that resonate with her character, while changing her outfit to feel more contemporary. I plan on blocking her out in maya, sculpting her in zbrush, doing some clothing elements in marvelous, texturing her skin in mudbox, using quixel to do all of her remaining materials, and rendering her in marmoset toolbag. I decided to create a thread as that sort of pushes me a bit more to update it more regularly. So far, all I have is a small paintover in which I started to block out elements for her outfit. The proportions are not final as this is just a screenshot of a previous character that I am solely using to paint over for ideas. I'm probably going to move onto blocking out her proportions next. As always, critique and suggestions are always welcome!

The overall design works well and I'm looking forward to seeing more of her!
My experience has been the same in MD - it's very easy to make something, its much more difficult to make something you're happy with :P Looking forward to seeing more!
Here is another WIP shot. Blocked in her backpack, belt, and lasso. Still have to do her utility belt but after that, I can finally start sculpting!

So, briefly said, emphasize the plane change between quadriceps and adductors. And maybe adding a bit of the femoral triangle, but not too much. (;
Cant wait to see the textures!
Only thing what bothers me is the leg armor, it looks to "square" compared to the rest.
But maybe it's only the light/view.
Neitherless maybe try something more rounder I think this would fit better (like the one from the movie picture above).
Only thing that caught my eye is how small ( vertically) the backpack look on his back but I'm sure those smaller backpack do exist might just not be used to seeing those.
Very cool, only thing I noticed is the area above her kneecap seems a bit too defined. Women have big fat pads over their knee caps, might look better if you smoothed out that area a bit. Her head is also very small but that is definitely what you're going for. Other than that it looks amazing, my personal preference would be to loosen up her shorts a bit, an unnecessary distraction. xD
Mongrelman, she will have her lasso attached to her utility belt. It's shown in my concept and my blockout model.
