Answered: Fixing Seams on Base materials

Here is a Technical question

Forexample, If I had an organic cylindrical object (like a wooden shaft, used in various tools) and I would want to make it appear seamless, I'd simply place the seams in 3 areas, from the top and bottom of the cylinder, with a single slice in the side. This seam spot is something I can't just hide with geometry or noise, and I cant stretch the UV map so that the texture would perfectly loop around .

The mask editor handles these seam well, but the materials them selves do not.

Is it possible yet to patch or fix this seam within Quixel suite

Hey Menithal! Traditional seam fixing applies here just as it does with any other UV-based tool. The best solution would be to minimize seams where possible. When you can't, it's a good idea to attempt to utilize dDo Painter in order to paint over the seam.

What I would recommend is using the same material but scaled up or down one or two levels (whichever works best for your project) and use DynaMask to enable dDo Painter, then paint with one of the many brushes available in the Suite to clean up any of the visible seams.

I can give better advice if I can get a look at your model!
