Sorry for the radio silence for a while buy have been busy at work quite a bit. Anyway here`s the current progress of him. Slowly getting there, still rough but I`ll start cleaning up forms during the weekend.
Hey peeps, here`s this weekend`s update . Almost there with the final design/proportions, then I`ll go mental with details. I`m a bit behind with the plan but hopefully I`ll make up for it soon. ps. The hands and arms are super WIP (as I want to redo the secondary shapes completely)
This looks amazing! I don't see anything wrong with it so I can't give you any critiques, the work you put in establishing the form is paying out! If you'd like some suggestions, see how it looks if the arm membranes merged with the neck muscles going upwards and not the clavicle, you could also experiment with sth like this:

I'd say the only thing I could suggest is to find more areas where you can see the bony structure, because he feels a bit lumpy overall... all soft... would be nice to see some more structure like you have in the elbows all over the body then you could highlight the soft tissue more in contrast

Thanks dude, I`m just a bit behind I`m affraid. Have to step it up , as I kind of wanted to have an animation friendly-ish retop with proper manual uv seams haha. Guess that might be out of the picture if I don`t finish high res soon !
My 2c. Like where it's going. Really seems super sluggish, glutinous and viperish at the same time with that upper jaw. I'm not totally sold on the bent back hands, seems like it would add some menace to it to have the hands splayed or at least in a more practical position.
Just consolidating some bits, this weekend I hope to go mental with details and catch up with what I`m behind. Changed belly,hands, back webbing a bit and back leg gesture, made it slant backwards more to feel more embedded into the body. Feedback is super appreciated as always! Vick.

Tomorrow I finish the hand, Tuesday I wrap up the legs/flippers and ten I`ll retop/zremesh everything together and do some secondary and tertiary details. By end of next weekend I need to have it finished so I can start bake/texture omgomgomgogm hopefully there still is taim
@llRobinll I kind of have a slight idea of the pose, but can`t pose him yet until I have a final symmetrical full body topology - as I want to be able to still sculpt with posable sym. Also I want the enviro will play a role in the final pose too so I need to sculpt a bit for that too lol
Thank you guys, had a slow week, but posed an older version of him for sh*ts and giggles in order to figure out a composition. I`m stuck at these to angles, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Plij HALP!
A6 or A3 do it for me, my eye is constantly getting stuck at the triangle between his forearm and the ground though, so maybe try to reduce that issue.
A3 and A4 show off everything, I would really like to see A4 with the head retracting from it's right to it's left, cause this way it's staring at the camera. Or maybe a lower FOV? So it would feel real big, as you would look at it IRL.

Does not seem like much of an update, but re-topology took one hell of a time, that and other duties ... well, almost done with the retop/uv`s ... I seriously doubt I`ll finish this in time for the submission, even if I am to submit shite work (which I will not lol) but even so, I`ll keep working on it and posting and finishing it as if there`s no deadline
That being said, would be lovely to have an extension WINK WINK !
Thanks people ! I`m going to try to at least submit something till the deadline, and then I`ll go back and redo it properly. A pitty, but work and personal stuff got into the way of me actually delivering a decent final piece.
Oh well, next time, I have to do better Live and learn.
I won`t get to finish him but I`ll at least try to post something for the sake of submitting my entry. Then I`ll go back and sculpt/tweak and make him badass and finish him whenever he`s done Color blockout for now.
