I'm just discovering flowmaps. One thing I'm trying to do is create a sheen on a velvet fabric and a flowmap seems to be what can do the trick. Is this possible in Toolbag or is there a better solution?
The anisotropic reflection shader supports a direction (flow) map input, this may be what you're looking for. To use the anisotropic shader, change the reflection method from blinn-phong to anisotropic.
