Maya Xgen can not bind geometry

Dear All,
First of all I would like to wish a happy new year to all of you!
I have trouble with binding faces to an xgen description, but this happens with only one mesh. If I create an other cube just for the sake of testing, it works. I tried to cleanup the mesh, but it does not help, it gives the following error: xgenMR.py line 237: 'NoneType' object is not iterable
Could anybody help me why it is?
