Hey guys, I just updated to 2.1 and I can't paint in 3DO at all, either in fully rendered or mask only mode. I get no error notification, and I double checked every setting to make sure I was not using the eraser, or an inverted color, etc. I tried both with mouse and tablet. Clicking just does not register anything at all.
I have sort of the same problem as armangelo after updating. When I load a project the object is not visible in 3Do. I have to import the model again, but the painting doesn't work at all. Does anybody know how to downgrade? I need to work, but just can't like this.
I've got it working, but it's terribly buggy. I'll add a material and it will unpack all the sub material layers in the main material channel, then when I try to delete them, they won't go away. I have to quit PS, close Quixel and then reopen the whole thing. It will work as advertised for a while, then something else will go wrong, like a material won't open, or the Material ID picker won't work.
I'll have to stop, save, restart both applications and reopen everything again. This sort of thing happens repeatedly and it takes about 3 tries to get a material correct. Is it this buggy? Is there something up with the latest Nvidia drivers or something else?

That sounds like something is wonky with either your Suite installation or your Photoshop installation. I would back up your Photoshop actions and other preferences and perform a clean installation, along with a clean install of the Suite itself.
I installed the latest Ethernet drivers and disabled any other network devices, now everything seems to be working fine. So I guess the problem wasn't with the Quixel Suite to be fair.
I'll try that. Edit: Are you referring to that brush icon next to the layer? Because it's turned off, I was under the impression that that was the "bake" button.
Is this project in 16-bit? If it is, try 8-bit for now and see if that resolves it. I've forwarded your video on to the developers. Thanks for the report!

Create a material, Smart Material, or clean layer. CTRL+LMB drag the opacity to 0% on the Albedo channel. LMB drag it to 100% (this sets it to 0% on all other channels), switch to the Bump channel, and LMB drag its opacity to 100% as well. Whenever you paint using DynaMask, it will only update in the Albedo and Bump channels.
So confused on what happened with this latest version, it is pretty unusable on my end for some reason. I load up the mesh, load up normal map, load up occ map create curvature with dDO...and hit the "make art" button it does its thing...then 3DO window pops up with no mesh while its still processing the curvature map...3DO has nothing visible in viewport... I x out of 3DO...it continues processing...which takes me to the "lets start" menu...after which I cannot load the mesh
I tried this with primitives, I tried it with the mesh I baked...this makes no sense
That's quite strange, Ghostblades - could you send over your project and input mesh/maps to sameer@quixel.se so he can take a look at it? Sameer is our 3DO engineer and should be able to assist with getting this resolved.
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, and it's just a settings somewhere I'm overlooking. But since the 2.1.5 update I have to select the 3DO window after each edit I make in the DDO tab, otherwise the 3DO window won't update the textures on the model. This makes it extremely tedious to tweak anything.
Was there a new setting or check box added in the 2.1.5 update that could cause this behavior?
I figured it out...it was a strange network issue, when I tried loading a model from a separate server it wouldn't load but if I loaded it from desktop it did...so My fault! User error
Having an issues with 3do my mesh always appears blurry (like it is too far away in depth of field) but turning off the post processing and editing the DoF doesn't fix it. It feels like the post processing is always on and I can't edit the settings.
Edit: Saw a thread where someone had a similar issue. Gonna rollback to 2.1.4 until 2.1.6 is released.
When will I see? This year? It would be interesting to hear what's going on. It's been so long since I've seen any updates about it.
Edit: Turns out last time I saw anything from it was in December 2014, in the "This is Megascans" video. Now we're halfway through 2016. Not sure if keeping things under wraps is doing you guys any good tbh.

Also today Quixel just selfupdated to a new version , I clicked yes and I didn't read the changes, where can I see those as on the site I can't find a list .
