When we announced the Escape: A Polycount Challenge we were pleased to be working with such amazing sponsors: handplane, Marmoset Toolbag, Quixel and Valve. Three of our sponsors are tools developers for videogame artists and coming up with prizes was a no-brainer: Let's offer the winners licences to their respective software. From that, there's potential for 60 licences to be awarded once this contest has ended. To us, that is very special and we really appreciate those sponsors doing that for the Polycount community.
The fourth sponsor for the Escape: A Polycount Challenge was a game developer. We've worked with game developers and our contests/challenges before in the past but this time around we weren't going to be seeing the winners have their content added to a videogame. This time around having a developer as a sponsor was a first for us and coming up with prizes for the winners of this contest was a little more tricky. Today we are pleased to announce the prizes that Valve will be offering to the winners of the Escape: A Polycount Challenge.
The contributors to the Top 3 winning entries of the Escape: A Polycount Challenge will be receiving from Valve:
In addition to those prizes the contributors to the #1 winning entry of the Escape: A Polycount Challenge will be receiving from Valve:
In the community of video game artist (read: not just the Polycount Community) Valve is considered to be one of the most creative out there; Both in the art they create and the choices they make as developers. When we heard that they wanted to fly the top winning team to their studio to spend the day there we knew we had something special for the winners of the Escape: A Polycount Challenge.
We'd like to extend a thank-you to all of our sponsors for offering such amazing prizes for this challenge - we know artists will love them.
