Been working on this for the last couple days. Just experimenting with what a Minion would look like more humanized. Any C&C is appreciated

Nice work Jake! Super creepy and has a lot of character! I think the lighting may be a bit to harsh though and seems a bit to washed out.

Stinkfoot Thanks! I thought the same thing as I worked on him. Not goofy and cute like the Minions are.

Aaron, thanks man. Yeah that lighting was giving me some grief but I did go back and up the saturation so it doesn't look as washed out. I'll mess with it a bit more though. I'll keep tweaking with the lighting. Thanks!

I'd love to see the goggles look more metallic, they look like plastic at the moment.

@Tectonic, very true! I'll go back and look a a reflective pass for that. I think next time I'll try a different method for better material control.

Alright, have an update with some suggested tweaks, messed with the lighting added some saturation, messed with the metal.

Reminds me of the realistic takes on the Simpsons characters and the like. It's off-putting, but excellent.

His head reminds me of Homer Simpson.

I do think the lack of a nose is a pretty distinctive trait of the minions. The face just looked off to me. I had to paint over your dude just to see what it would look like:



More of a matter of preference I suppose. Hes still awesome, either way!

@gsokol yeah I kept the nose to give him all the human characteristics they don't have like a nose and ears. I think they nailed it with their original design not giving them these features.
