The human body can reduced to a system of volumes. If you know how to draw basic shapes well, it'll be easier to draw the human body and variations of it.
It'd also be unfair to say that you have to learn all of this on your own. If you want to be a good artist, go take lessons from a teacher.
Agree. I have this book by Andrew Loomis and it is really useful. You can pick up a copy off amazon.com It's well worth a look!
I notice you're making a lot of short, tentative strokes, which will make your artwork not 'flow'. A way to practice drawing longer, smoother strokes is to practice contour drawing, while relaxing your hand, or practice drawing more curved lines
Also, don't feel afraid to make mistakes. You need to make a lot of crap to be good.
Hi. Thank for commenting yeah I guess I am comfty . I draw on my android phone (samsungs s duos 2 4' screen). About short messy lines honestly I like them like that I draw fast and do a bit longers lines, for example shoulders are done without lifting finger, but later I like to make little messy lines , I giess it looks better for me for sketches like that, otherwise looks too simple for me.
