Hi guys, first thread here.
I've been dabbling in 3D since I was 14 (26 now), but I'd still consider myself a novice because as a kid I was too impatient with the learning process. I've picked up things here and there along the way, but it's been a good few years since I've done it seriously. So if I ask some really novice questions, it's because I am. :'D
Here's my current project. A less fat Pandaren monk character that I've come up with. Trying to match some of the proportions from WoW, but maybe not as extreme. I don't really have a poly count limit as I think it's more important that I figure out things like joints and triangles first.
Here's the concepts I've drawn and the model itself. I'm not too happy with the back so any feedback on how to improve it is definitely welcome.

Decided to work on the clothing while I figure out how I'm gonna approach the face. Still trying to figure out the topology.
Didn't mean to poof like that. I'm still trying to work out the head but I think it's coming along. Still a bit weird, but it's better than my first attempt.
Wanted to go a little more exaggerated than this, but I'm happy to even have gotten this far.
I'll probably get started on props next and then rig everything. Can't wait to get to textures.
After looking at some other lowpoly models and wireframes, I realized I went a lot higher than what I envisioned for this project, but I'll see this one through to the end just to get the experience in.
I tried to get started on the rigging but I can't seem to get the skin modifier to work with the bones. They're all added on the modifier but when I move the bones to test, it just isn't moving the mesh. I'll have to figure it out tomorrow.
I was able to get the skin modifier to work and the legs seem to deform well enough without any major tweaks, but it looks like I have some work to do with that arm.
Real happy to get this far, though. I feel like I'm learning a lot and feel like I can finish a model properly for once.
