I just got my first pay cheque

I just got paid for my first 6 weeks of my first 3D gig. I am working as an environment artist on an FPS title. I'm learning so much and enjoying it hugely.

I wouldn't be where I am without this community, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you all.

Aha, I haven't had money for such a long time... I am like I CAN JUSTIFY A DEACTIVATED RPG RIGHT? REFERENCE RIGHT?

Although my brother made fun of me because the first things I bought were new underwear, new shirts and a toothbrush. Think I am getting old/boring/sensible... although that RPG still sounds like a good idea.

Congrats! Feels good huh? I remember my first job out of college actually in the 3d gaming and sim field, and it felt pretty cool to get paid for doing it. My dad gave me some good advice, no matter how little you are making or how much you are having to spend on the necessities like rent and food and such, always do a little something for yourself for fun. So enjoy!

Thanks for the advice. I am working from home and I am finding one of the more difficult things is to stop working and to stop worrying. I think my colleagues are a bit fed up with telling me I'm doing fine when I'm like SORRY AM I BEING TOO SLOW? However it's getting a bit easier, and I think I will feel more comfortable as time goes by.
