Hi guys,
Long time lurker.
/Cheese Mode On
Thread title says it all really. I consider myself a beginner at the start of a long journey and i have chosen to take that journey here. My initial goal is to be employed at a game studio as a character artist. My end game goal, i'm not quite sure yet.
/Cheese Mode Off
Any work posed is open to be critiqued as harshly as you like (You won't hurt my feelings!).
This is something i have been noodling away on for the last while. I am unsure who created the concept, If anyone knows please do let me know.
This is my attempt at the base body, one of the best sculpts i have done to date. I still don't think it is very good plus it doesn't resemble the concept at all. However I do think that the head, while not being very detailed or matching the reference isn't awful. With some work it may even look okay.
This model is to be my first portfolio piece and any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
I was also wondering how you guys know/judge when to move forward with a model to the retopo and texturing stages?
Apologies for the wall of text, Il keep it shorter in future!

I have a lot of the Dark Elf statues and their hips are super wide.
I have made some changes to the proportions of the model and feel like its in a better place now. I will push them a bit more however i am so far out of my comfort zone i think i need to let my brain adjust to how it looks now.
Also started to block out very basic armor pieces. Going to work on these and leave the body as is for the time being!
Crits are appreciated and thanks for stopping by!
Basically, fix the back of the head, lower the ear, fix the neck a bit, maybe push out the top of the chest (where the clavical is) and push back the shoulders so they don't look so stiff.
It's a super rough paintover but it might help.
I am going to Re do the ears and spend some more time on her back before pushing to a final detail pass on the body.
Then its onto the armour!
Again any crits etc are appreciated and thanks for stopping by!
-A newbie who look up to people like this.
Been a while since i posted. As this is my first attempt to actually take a character past the rough sculpt phase there has been a lot of trail and error stuff going on behind the scenes, and progress has been slow!
This is the sculpt as it currently sits. I have changed the concept to something with a bit more detail in the armor and it is proving to be quite the challenge! I am not sure if i am detailing it correctly (using masks and inflating) but it seems to look okay thus far!
Going to tackle the hair and ears next and begin to work my way back down the body.
As usual any crits etc are appreciated!
