3d studio max dpi scaling

Hey!
I probably should have thought about this before buying a 4k monitor but I was so excited about actually getting one I didn't even consider 3dsmax not scaling to it. I can get Photoshop scaling fixed and zbrush is fine but max doesn't like it at all!!
For this reason I'm now having to use maya, which i find slow for me. Has anyone got a form of fix for this or will I have to use my 4k monitor at 1440p haha?
