Shell materials are all split up/ painter

I have an asset with two 1x1 UVWs. I exported both parts into Painter with different Mat Ids assigned but I still get each the mesh split up onto "shells"
All I need is two texture sets. Any help would be appreciated!

Might help the devs if you state what app you're exporting from, what file format/version.. one material id should = one texture set using FBX.

Looks like your shells have different materials assigned. Make sure you assign 2 actual materials to your 2 parts and not only set up the mat IDs.
