I just posted this in the the "big" megascans thread, but it was meant for this threat, here is the promised mini update:
I was talking to Teddy and asked him if there was anything we could show to the people of Polycount as a mini-update. So he suggested we showed one of the mini-environment packs (probably not the final name). There will be full sized environment packs with more stuff, but these small ones are kinda nifty, they are very useful. They containt the following:
So a total of 20 assets. And this pack will be sold for a price of $49 at 2K resolution to hobbyists that DON`T have a subscription. So this is a one time purchase prize. And here is a scene from Cryengine using all the included assets:
Very nice!! The terrain and rock material looks what has been promised again!! And that there're assets packs from you guys is quite amazing! And IMO that you're showing a shot directly from CE with MEGASCANS stuff is simply excellent because it shows the huge quality of the product again! Thanks for the promised update Eric & Teddy!
Looks awesome, asset packs sound very promising. Really looking forward to getting to take MEGASCANS out for a test drive. Thanks for the update Eric and Teddy.
Looks very nice. I'm a bit dubious about the whole 2k deal tho. Even for hobbyists it doesn't make much sense specially when you're aiming for a photo realistic look. If this was a 4k purchase at $49 I'd jump right into it but right now it makes me wonder how much the 4k version will cost.
Hello,
I'm very exicted about the launch of megascan on 30 th April.
However I had a question and I don't found an answear yet on this forum.
I bought Quixel to be able to try the megascan starter kit.
I can't found any displacement map. For all material I do get an Albedo, Ao, Gloss,Normal, Specular but Bump is only a 128RGB gray. I tried converting the normal map as a displacement but I have the feeling that is not the proper way.
Any advices ? Sorry, i'm a new user of Quixel.

Will the beta be open to everyone who already got a quixel suite licence ?

Any feedback is most welcome!

Also what are brush scans?
Is this update also coming with "1.9" update for the Suite?
