Question for Proko and drawing steps

i just brought Proko figure drawing fundamentals videos. I am not sure how to follow this. But he start with the gesture drawing and by following Bean and Structure.

Isn't supposed to start with the proportions or something?

Gesture is about capturing the action of the pose. An action can be made by a human, unicorn, sock puppet, doesn't matter. You're not drawing a person, you're drawing the action. Proportions don't matter yet. The bean is just teaching you how to think about the interaction of two forms. Structure is just teaching you to think in simple shapes instead of worrying about complex anatomy forms. Looking at his stuff, he teaches proportions later after you know how to draw these things which makes total sense.
