So if you don't want critiques yet, why did you post it up here? I would think that this would be the best time for critiques since the block out stage is the most important.
I know you asked to hold off on critiques, but there are a LOT of problems with your mesh that will give you trouble later on. First, how are you going to deal with the seam between the two surfaces on the large curved corner? Why are you modeling the brass plate as a part of the surface mesh? And I assume you're going to boolean those slots; you're putting a lot of edges on them and those will be a nightmare to deal with if you tried to boolean them. You could totally get away with leaving them square and having the subdivision round them out.
You need to learn how to model things how they are manufactured. The brass plate is a SEPARATE PIECE from the wood panel. The top and front panels are also separate pieces. You need to keep this in mind while you're modeling. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but these first rounds of passes are the most important part of creating a nice piece, and it looks like you're going down the wrong path. Don't wait until everything is perfect before you start trying to receive crits, because by then it may be too late.
Actually I am ready now that I see how right these points are. I honestly don't know how to make a nicely curved edge without bevel but if someone could help I would love that . @Shinigami : I tend to do that @Joltya : You are so right and that was not harsh at all. How else will I learn? Yes they were going to be booleaned but now I see that would be weird.
@ProjectEagleeye: I was going to boolean that out. @Shinigami: That you for that. That is a very good idea
I have decided to completely restart because I realize that I am thinking of this completely wrong. I am going to think about how It would actually be manufactured. I thank everybody for helping. I am still very new to modeling so I appreciate all the help . I will be restarting this and hopefully it won't be so horrific . THX

Edit: except the extruded parts ^
