good intro program

Hey guys, I've done a few animations in photoshop cs6, but seems like most everybody uses flash to animate. I want to start animating more, but flash is 700 bucks. Any ideas for good programs to start learning on?

The 2d industry as a whole is moving more towards toon boom than flash, actually. It's much cheaper as well, and has a free trial.

I've never used it myself, but this girl is getting pretty sweet results using TVPaint

I've used flash, tvpaint, and toonboom animate. Hands down toonboom animate is the one to use. Flash and tvpaint are both incredibly clunky. toonboom animate is intuitive making the user feel at ease.

though, toonboom animate (non-pro) is the same price as flash: https://www.toonboom.com/products/animate
