Weight distribution for a 3d print

Hi all,

I am developing a 3d Model that will have to stand in an unusual way and without much support, to achieve that I wanted to weight the end that will be supported and the rest of the model to be a shell.

Is there a piece of software that can help with the weight distribution?, I realise it's also dependant on the print fluid/material.

I wanted to use this http://igl.ethz.ch/projects/make-it-stand/ but having installation problems with it.

I'm not entirely sure how you'd do that but the link you posted is baller. I want to try this as well!
